During the Iron Age, the Ancient Britons (referred to as the Celts) wore a warm, usually checked wrap, woven from wool that had been dyed with natural dyes and secured with a cloak pin, over a linen tunic.
I have used poly cotton for the dresses as this is an easy care fabric. Over garments are an acrylic fabric that resembles wool. This is easy to wash and much quicker to dry than pure wool. These are joined at the shoulders with decorated metal brooches.
