Description
During the Iron Age, the Ancient Britons (referred to as the Celts) wore a warm, usually checked peplos, woven from wool that had been dyed with natural dyes and secured with pins, over a linen tunic.
I have used poly cotton for the tunics as this is an easy care fabric. Over garments are an checked fleece fabric that resembles wool. This is easy to wash and much quicker to dry than pure wool. These are joined at the shoulders with decorated metal brooches.
